I never thought I would graduate from high school. Not because I was academically challenged, but rather quite honestly I did not believe I would live to be 18. Around the age of 11, I became a daily drinker. Alcohol brought great pain and destruction to my life and "drank" all passion and purpose from me. When I was 24, I was placed in an alcoholic medical detoxification unit. It wasn't my first time in detox but praise God it was my last. Eventually, I became a therapist because without compassionate, empathetic counselors coming into my life and teaching me how to live life without alcohol and with purpose I would have died. Today I have my masters. Today I have over 27 years of sobriety. Today I have the privilege of being a compassionate, empathetic, and purposeful therapist who helps others find and live their own purpose.

WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST

My work is trauma-informed and deeply personal. I meet you where you are with compassion, curiosity, and tools to help you move forward. Whether you're facing trauma, addiction, anxiety, or simply feeling stuck, I’ll help you connect the dots, break old patterns, and move toward healing.

WHAT TO EXPECT

I use a mix of evidence-based and experiential therapies to support emotional integration and nervous system regulation.

Here’s a glimpse at what I bring into the room:

  • P.E.E.R. Therapy (Primary Emotional Energy Recovery): A powerful modality that changed my own life. It helps identify core beliefs and release stored emotional energy.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): A gentle, non-pathologizing approach to healing your internal world. I’ve completed over 120 hours of IFS training.

  • Polyvagal-Informed Therapy: I love the brain. I help you understand your trauma responses through a neuroscience lens, so you can work with your body instead of against it.

  • Christian Counseling: Faith-based support is available for those who request it.

WHAT I SPECIALIZE IN

After 20 years of being on most major insurance panels, I’ve chosen to expand my outreach in a way that doesn’t involve working directly with insurance companies. I’m no longer in-network with any insurance providers. Still, I can provide a Superbill upon request (a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement).
